Local was presented and produced by Liz Richardson Productions. In this solo show, storyteller Liz revisits her childhood memories and home in the North in an attempt to understand whether she still belongs there, or ever did.

A multi-generational piece, Liz takes the audience on a journey through the rural landscape and environment of her home, reconnecting with voices from the past and her young family now. In doing so, she confronts her stark fear of loss and the feeling of being lost without belonging.

Local opened at Rosehill Theatre in Whitehaven, West Cumbria and toured to village halls in West Cumbria and wider theatre venues (Theatre by the Lake, Lowry, Lighthouse - Poole, The Dukes Lancaster) in May/June 2025.
